What compelled you to take up a leadership role in APC?

During the past spring, I was an APC intern. As an intern for APC, it really opened my eyes up the issues of the API community. I was part of the Gender and Sexuality Committee and it really educated me. What I learned became my responsibility and I felt it was my turn to help raise awareness of API issues. APC’s history is really impressive to say the least and the 2010-2011 staff were equally as impressive. They were knowledgable, inspired and excited that it really made me want to join and further APC’s causes.
