What compelled me to seek a leadership role in APC: I was amazed at what APC offered this year and was more amazed at the potential APC’s space has. I’ve never worked at the coalition level until I became IVP for NSU, and more than running a single individual org, I think it is important for orgs to inter-mingle and support each other.

I sought a position in APC, particularly Assistant Director of Internal Affairs, because I want other orgs to understand that APC is a space where we can come together to support and understand each other (a place for diversity). It’s sad that we are so distant from each other throughout the year, but only really unite during USAC elections or if there is a big crisis that is clearly facing all of our communities. I want to change that, and create an environment where we are constantly interacting with one another.
