What compelled you to seek a leadership role in APC?
The first part was taking an Asian American Studies class. I think the fact that one class can really open your eyes to the existence of the various AAPI social issues really speaks to the power of education. It was through that class that I eventually found my way to APC, and became an intern for them in Spring quarter. As an intern, I have really come to appreciate the role that education plays in allowing people to think critically about social issues, and have come to understand the importance of a relevant and accessible education. As a result, I decided to run for Academic Affairs Commissioner, in hopes of helping the Coalition work to maintain these two values in our education here at UCLA.
